Who We Are
Children’s Hut is a licensed childcare and education center in Washington D.C founded in 1990 by Mr. Ernest McClellan and is currently co-owned by Mr. Philip Johnson. We provide high-quality childcare and education to 106 children, ranging in age from two months to five years old (infants to preschool), in accordance with the guidelines outlined in DCMR 29 (District of Columbia Municipal Regulations #29), Child Development Facility Codes. The District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) has awarded Children’s Hut the High Quality Tier under the current Capital Quality, DC’s Redesigned Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). The program has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 2005 and maintains its accreditation to this day.
